Job Summary

We are seeking a Vibrant Life Assistant to join our team at Spring Cypress AL and MC. As a Vibrant Life Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of residents during outings and assisting with daily activities within the community.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the community van safely for daily outings and medical appointments.
  • Assist with the safe loading and unloading of residents onto and off the van.
  • Follow all state and federal laws when operating the van and comply with standards and processes of vehicle inspection and driving.
  • Act as a member of the Vibrant Life staff when on outings and within the community.
  • Participate in daily outings with residents, including assistance with personal care and participation in planned activities.
  • Assist with planned community activities and programs between van trips.
  • Ensure the van is in proper operational order, registration and insurance information is present and up-to-date, and promptly report any safety, mechanical, or maintenance issues to a supervisor.
  • Maintain communication with the community through the use of a cell phone, keeping it charged and on during the workday.
  • Understand that resident safety is paramount and offer feedback to community staff on ways to improve safety during van trips.
  • Train community staff on the proper loading and unloading of the van and wheelchair lift usage.
  • Provide support to the community's marketing efforts through positive and friendly interaction during all property tours and telephone contact with the public, as directed by a supervisor.
  • Communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor immediately.
  • Perform day-to-day clerical work connected with the position.
  • Attend all scheduled in-service classes.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned by the Vibrant Life Director.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to driving requirements and auto carrier's age restrictions.
  • High school education. Valid Class of Driver's License required by state for van capacity.
  • Prefer minimum of two years experience driving a van. Prefer experience with elderly and dementia residents.
