Patient Service Representative Float Advocate Aurora Health

As a Patient Service Representative Float, you will be the first point of contact for patients in our outpatient department and/or clinic reception. Your excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and physicians will make a significant impact on our patients' experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients, obtain demographic and insurance information, and verify insurance coverage.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and previous balances, and post payments.
- Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments, and coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules.
- Provide accurate and detailed information regarding test preparations, time patients to arrive, and any other directional information needed by patients.
- Update insurance, financial responsibility, and other data when changes or additions occur, and communicate with patients as appropriate.
- Identify, report, and resolve problems regarding registration to appropriate individuals and departments.
- Monitor patient flow to ensure they are cared for in the most efficient and courteous manner.
- Offer various assistance to patients, including arranging transportation needs, providing directions, and locating wheelchairs.
- Perform visit closure, including checking out patients after a visit, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing patients with a visit summary.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate
- No experience required
- Excellent customer service skills, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate computer skills, including experience in using personal computers and electronic mail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
Work Environment:
This is a float position, and hours vary between 6:30am and 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
