How You Will Contribute:
As a mobile radiologic technician, your role will involve:
Utilizing a company-provided vehicle that is equipped with a compact, portable x-ray system (DR) to travel locally and perform x-ray examinations on patients across various facilities. You will cater to diverse patient demographics, including adults, seniors, women, and children. Depending on the market, you may also have the opportunity to work with EKGs, Holter Monitors, and Pacemaker Checks. Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Traveling by vehicle to conduct portable x-ray procedures in various environments, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, correctional institutions, and private residences.
- Assessing and determining appropriate electronic and technical parameters based on individual patient requirements.
- Adhering to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- Preparing and accurately transmitting physician and patient orders in a timely manner.
- Setting up, adjusting, and operating a range of electronic equipment to capture diagnostic images, which may include EKGs and Holter Monitors.
- Ensuring that all equipment is functional and ready for use at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Assisting with order processing, validation of imaging studies, communication with radiologists, customer follow-ups, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must meet all state and federal requirements for performing portable x-ray examinations, including one or more of the following:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R)
- Limited Scope X-ray Operator certification as per state-specific regulations
- State x-ray license (if applicable)
- Possess a valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
- Capability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to navigate stairs while carrying equipment
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
