The Housekeeping Room Specialist is tasked with the thorough cleaning and upkeep of guest accommodations, communal spaces, and service areas, including the linen storage and laundry sections, in accordance with company protocols and to a standard that meets or surpasses company expectations.
Location Overview
Our establishment is a hidden treasure among Long Island Hotels, offering a resort-like experience. Nestled on one of Long Island's highest elevations, this inviting and modern hotel provides stunning views and a peaceful retreat from the bustling city while remaining conveniently close to key attractions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in guest rooms, including bathrooms and sleeping areas, following established company standards.
- Prepare and stock cleaning carts, and arrange linen storage as directed.
- Accurately complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.
- Address additional tasks as needed, such as managing spills or fulfilling special requests from guests.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Consistent attendance in line with established guidelines.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules based on the property's operational needs.
- Ability to focus on tasks and complete assignments punctually, even amidst frequent interruptions.
- Capacity to foster positive relationships with colleagues while maintaining confidentiality regarding staff and guest information.
- Efficiently perform cleaning tasks in guest rooms, averaging 24 minutes per room, and complete approximately 18 rooms per shift.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Engage in bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching to meet cleaning requirements.
- Inspect rooms for cleanliness and promptly report any guest belongings left behind.
- Lift equipment or supplies weighing up to thirty (30) pounds using safe lifting practices.
- Manage heavy carts weighing around one hundred (100) pounds.
- Possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to accurately document completed rooms on daily reports.
- Demonstrate skills in grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, and visual acuity.
