About the Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team at North Kansas City Schools. As a key member of our special education department, you will play a vital role in supporting students with identified disabilities to improve their speech and/or language skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept assignments from the Special Education Department and work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality support services.
  • Conduct screenings using approved protocols to assess student needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Follow treatment plans developed by the Supervising SLP and document student progress to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Perform clerical duties, maintain equipment, and prepare materials to support student learning.
  • Prepare and maintain confidential records, schedule items, and demonstrate effective communication skills to ensure seamless collaboration with colleagues.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and training sessions as required to stay up-to-date on best practices and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field with necessary coursework.
  • Valid Missouri Board of Healing Arts registration.
  • Knowledge of Ethical Rules of Conduct and ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Class E Driver's License and Board of Healing Arts Registration.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
