About the Role

Arnold & Itkin LLP is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Briefing Attorney to join our team. As a Briefing Attorney, you will play a critical role in supporting our trial teams on high-profile cases across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, prepare, and draft motions and responses for assigned trial teams.
  • Learn and apply rules and laws in various jurisdictions, with a focus on Texas, Louisiana, and other states.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and review case documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Draft complex briefs, memoranda, and demand letters, as well as affirmative motions and petitions.
  • Attend trials as needed, 2-4 times a year, to draft trial briefs and provide support to the trial team.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritizing assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills, with attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex topics.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours based on briefing schedules and variable workload.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Office 365 suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as contemporary technology in law practice.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of any state bar.
  • Minimum of two years' post-law school experience at a civil law firm or one year in a judicial clerkship.
  • Excellent oral communication, writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Mastery of the English language (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Plaintiff personal injury experience.
  • Civil litigation experience.
  • Substantial experience writing and researching briefs, motions, and responses.
  • Experience in appellate work.
  • Knowledge of Texas state and federal court laws.
  • Knowledge of cases from start to finish.
  • Communication with clients on a regular basis.
  • Hiring experts.
  • Knowledge of Filevine.
