Position Summary

The role of the Maintenance Technician encompasses a variety of maintenance disciplines to ensure the seamless operation of machinery and equipment within our manufacturing facilities. This position requires adherence to safety standards and operational protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and uphold safety measures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance and inspections on production machinery to optimize functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues related to extrusion molding equipment.
  • Interpret and utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics effectively.
  • Execute repairs and replace defective components to maintain efficient machine operation.
  • Assist in the setup and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Document maintenance requests, work orders, and equipment failures using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Utilize electrical measuring tools to troubleshoot electrical problems.
  • Possess a solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, including three-phase systems up to 480 volts.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of process controls and A/C and D/C motors.
  • Maintain and service chiller and air supply systems.
  • Oversee the resin delivery system and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Operate machine shop equipment, including milling machines, lathes, and welding tools.
Qualifications

Education & Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; technical or vocational training in maintenance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and manufacturing control systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.

Experience:

  • Preferred knowledge of extrusion molding machinery and its operations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage pressure and challenges proactively.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to bend, turn, and lift during work tasks.
  • Comfortable climbing stairs and working at heights of up to 20 feet.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods with scheduled breaks.
  • Willingness to work around hot equipment.
Safety Commitment
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures is essential.
  • Safety is a priority; adherence to safety guidelines is mandatory.
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used during maintenance activities.
  • Participation in safety training and adherence to safe work practices is required.
  • Prompt reporting of safety concerns or incidents is expected.
