POSITION TITLE:
Chief Facilities Supervisor/High School


Purpose of the Role:

The role of "Chief Facilities Supervisor/High School" is aimed at ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment; facilitating the necessary arrangements for meetings, educational activities, and events; reducing property damage, loss, and liability risks; ensuring that tasks are performed safely, correctly, and on time; overseeing assigned custodial staff as needed, and executing other related duties as required.

This position is typically designated for a high school setting, reflecting the complexity and volume of responsibilities involved.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Organizes furniture and equipment to ensure proper setup for meetings, educational activities, and events.
  • Cleans educational facilities (including classrooms, offices, multipurpose rooms, cafeterias, and grounds) to maintain a sanitary, safe, and appealing environment.
  • Delivers various items (such as supplies, mail, packages, and furniture) to ensure materials reach the appropriate recipients.
  • Informs students, staff, and supervisors about activities, safety, and the proper maintenance of facilities.
  • Secures facilities and grounds to minimize property damage, loss, and liability, ensuring safety at the worksite.
  • Supervises six or more staff members as assigned to enhance workforce efficiency and meet shift requirements.
  • Acquires equipment, supplies, and materials to ensure the availability of necessary items and efficient job completion.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Repairs furniture and equipment to ensure items are available and in safe working order.
  • Participates in various activities (such as meetings and training) to receive and convey information.

  • Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

Abilities Required:

Ability to utilize cleaning agents/chemicals and equipment; communicate effectively; establish and maintain productive working relationships with employees, students, parents, and school administrators; perform basic reading and math for the safe and accurate use of cleaning agents/chemicals; manage multiple non-technical tasks.

Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, and supplies; work practices; and supervisory techniques.

Physical abilities include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, and visual acuity.
