Role Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Resident Care Aide is responsible for delivering essential services to residents as designated by the Nursing Director. Our commitment to high-quality care is paramount in our Resident Care department. This role ensures that residents receive timely and effective assistance, maintaining exceptional satisfaction levels among residents and their families while upholding the standards of HallKeen Assisted Living.

Key Responsibilities:

The following are the primary duties associated with this position, which may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Assist residents with daily living activities as outlined in their individual Service Plans.
  • Understand and uphold all Resident Rights.
  • Demonstrate patience and understanding while working with older adults of varying abilities.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet the changing needs and requests of residents.
  • This position requires alertness at all times; resting or sleeping during duty hours is not permitted.
  • Notify supervisors of any changes in residents' conditions and document observations accurately.
  • Provide personal care services to residents in a respectful and efficient manner.
  • Assist visitors and family members as needed.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and foster a calm, competent environment.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and procedures when handling equipment and performing physical tasks.
  • Keep the assisted living area clean and free of odors.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and community matters.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a nursing assistant is preferred but not mandatory; completion of a certified home health aide or personal care training program is acceptable.
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence; capable of writing basic correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions and address problems with concrete variables.
  • Willingness to work various schedules and shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Capable of bending, reaching, and working in confined spaces.
  • Able to push and pull equipment and furnishings as necessary.
  • Physically able to stand and work on hands and knees for extended periods.
