Job Description

University City Housing Company is seeking a skilled Plumbing Apprentice to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, multifamily, and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including residential, multifamily, and commercial properties.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing diagrams.
  • Support senior plumbers in assembling, installing, and troubleshooting plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials to ensure they are clean and in working order.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with all local and state regulations.
  • Assist with diagnosing plumbing issues and making necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Attend and participate in all required training sessions and classes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior education or experience in the plumbing field.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing trade including boiler and HVAC repair and installation.
  • Willingness to learn the plumbing trade through hands-on experience and classroom instruction.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
