Technical Network Architect for Air Defense

Job Description:
">We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Network Architect to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a key member of our Air Defense Communications Service program, you will play a critical role in maintaining 99.999% availability for the DoD/Air Force Air Defense Communications Systems, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

You will be responsible for analyzing customer requirements, solving complex problems with innovative solutions, and providing expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks.
">Your Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze customer requirements and develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.">
- Provide expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and telecom equipment.">
- Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintain system backup and recovery capability.">
- Develop advanced engineering ideas and guide their development into a final product.">
- Perform highly advanced network/systems design, development, and integration from start to end.">
- Apply advanced engineering skills to highly complex infrastructures, including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining network devices, telecom equipment, radio equipment, operating systems, application software, and system management tools.">
- Apply advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.">
- Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and work with management to evolve current processes.">
- Invent innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency.">
- Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.">
- Create plans and configure systems for data communication networks.">
- Design and build hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.">
- Evaluate new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.">
- Consult with executives and customers to deliver complex network solutions.">
- Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.">
- Serve as a team or task lead.">

">What You'll Need:

- Active Secret clearance.">
- History of working in a Cisco environment.">
- Master's Degree and 15+ years of experience or 17 years of experience in lieu of degree.">
- Must meet the certification requirement of DoD Directive 8140.01 and 8570.01-M.">
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher – (Highly Preferred).">
- Lack of valid/current certification would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for exceptional candidates with an extensive network engineering background.">
- Work is onsite in Hampton, Virginia.">
Salary Range: $140,899 - $162,034
