Job Title: Counselor

At Behavioral Health Network's Hope Center, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. As a Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in substance abuse recovery in the Western Massachusetts community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the growth, independence, and safety of individuals served.
  • Provide care with respect, sensitivity, and in a manner that preserves and protects client autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Oversee and provide guidance and direct counseling.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Develop individual treatment plans using knowledge of addiction, dual diagnosis, and aftercare planning.
  • Assist individuals with resolution of legal issues, medication compliance, and continuing care needs.
  • Facilitate diverse psycho-educational groups.
  • Document comprehensive assessments and provide timely care.
  • Recognize and report licensing, funding, safety, and maintenance concerns.
  • Provide transportation, crisis intervention, and emergency services as needed.
Requirements:
  • Commitment to empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (required); Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred).
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in human services.
  • At least one year of experience working in substance treatment environment.
  • Working knowledge of DPH Bureau of Substance Addiction Services regulations.
  • Ability to understand, empathize, and work with an addicted, dually-diagnosed and/or MAT maintained population.
  • LADCI or LADCII or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Internet, word processing, and email systems.
  • Valid Driver's License (required).
  • Vehicle for use during all working hours should be registered and inspected in accordance with 540 CMR 4.00 (required).
