Key Responsibilities
  • News Gathering and Coordination: Coordinate the gathering and feeding of news materials to ensure timely and accurate delivery to all platforms.
  • Breaking News Coverage: Effectively research and implement coverage of breaking news and ongoing stories, demonstrating the ability to jump in and quickly assess what is needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with NBC News digital, streaming, and broadcast platforms on newsgathering, social media initiatives, and content distribution, while communicating with key stakeholders to ensure editorial and usage guidance is obtained and disseminated.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data to inform and evolve newsgathering, storytelling, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Platform Management: Facilitate and manage requests from all platforms for field teams on assignment, while establishing and maintaining working story and contact files.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitive broadcasts, cable, and digital platforms to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Story Coverage Planning: Develop and implement story coverage plans and layouts with oversight from management, working closely with Network, MSNBC, and NBC News Now teams to accommodate their on-air needs.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with technical and operations staff on resource management to ensure seamless execution of news coverage.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be highly organized, with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of news gathering and dissemination principles.
