The Manufacturing Quality Control Manager at ViskoTeepak will spearhead food safety and quality initiatives across all US operations. This role involves providing strategic leadership and serving as a liaison between Enterprise Quality and Food Safety, plant management, partners, support teams, and select clients. The position aims to cultivate food safety and quality expertise within the facility while developing a proficient team of quality technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Quality and Food Safety operations as the Quality Manager / SQF Practitioner.
  • Lead the Quality Program and provide guidance for the Food Safety Program within the facility.
  • Implement and manage the SQF program, ensuring the quality and safety of all products and packaging.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive written programs, record-keeping, reports, inspections, monitoring, testing, and training in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Drive the development, implementation, review, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of the food safety and quality system along with best practices.
  • Manage internal and external audit requirements, ensuring all quality and food safety concerns are identified and addressed.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of quality-related issues, including customer feedback, through collaboration with various departments.
  • Assume the role of SQF Practitioner and HACCP Team Leader.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs focused on quality and food safety to enhance employee knowledge and compliance.
  • Oversee the nonconformance process and support cross-functional teams regarding the quality and safety of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
  • Facilitate and promote the internal corrective action process.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards, including GMP and SQF as relevant.
  • Collaborate with management to identify and mitigate any conditions that may impact food safety or quality.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all health, safety, security, and emergency protocols.
  • Uphold all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and established processes as mandated by management, the company, or law.
  • Possess the ability to perform manufacturing tasks to maintain process viability.
  • May occasionally be required to lift weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related area.
  • Strong background in food manufacturing or food packaging is essential.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse individuals and organizations.
  • SQF Practitioner certification and training are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage situations effectively and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of management and peers.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must.
  • A team player who contributes positively to the work environment.
