Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced outdoor educator to join our team as a Lead Outdoor Educator and Curriculum Developer. This is a unique opportunity to develop and lead outdoor education programs for children and families in the Benton County, Oregon area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead outdoor education programs for children and families, including after-school, homeschool, and seasonal camps.
  • Work with a team of instructors to develop and implement curriculum for current program offerings, expand classes, and develop new curriculum.
  • Provide weekly email communications with parents and weekly/biweekly phone check-ins with administration.
  • Support instructor team development and feedback, and communicate with Parks & Rec partners and additional non-profit partners.
  • Perform additional tasks to provide full-time hours, including marketing, program development, and community event staffing.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of outdoor teaching experience.
  • Other teaching experience and ability to connect curriculum to conventional learning environments.
  • Self-starting, innovative, and motivated to act in a leadership position.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
  • Strong risk/group/behavior management skills and experience in the outdoors, including Outdoor First Aid training.
  • Ability to mentor/train and supervise assistant and team instructors.
  • Loves working with kids and comfortable leading programs for a variety of age groups.
  • Solutions and big picture focus/capable.
  • Looking for a meaningful challenge as much as a job.
