Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Pharmacist to join our team at HCA Florida Capital Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert medication management and clinical pharmacy services to our critically ill patients.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in facility committees to establish and implement medication-related policies and procedures.
  • Direct the critical care service line within the hospital, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize drug costs through appropriate use and implementation of cost-containment measures.
  • Provide education and training to nursing, physician, and ancillary staff on clinical pharmacy services and new medications.
  • Monitor and interpret medication orders, transcribe and verify them accurately, and compound and dispense pharmaceuticals as needed.
  • Assess and manage medication regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, and appropriateness of drug and dose.
  • Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing nonformulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy selection.
  • Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
  • Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership.
  • Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
  • Complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
Requirements
  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of two years of hospital experience or Resident-trained preferred.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
