Resident Instructor

Community Residences is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Job SummaryThe Resident Instructor will be responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals in our residential programs. This includes creating and implementing individualized plans of care, facilitating daily living skills, and promoting independence and self-advocacy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each individual
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management
- Facilitate independence and self-advocacy through education and skill-building
- Monitor and report medical, physical, and behavioral changes to the supervisor and program coordinator
- Administer medication to clients as prescribed, in accordance with agency policy and regulatory standards
- Participate in training opportunities and maintain required certifications and training
- Assist with household management, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintenance
- Provide transportation to appointments and outings, as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- At least two years of experience in the field of human services, preferably in a residential setting
- Valid CT driver's license and good driving record required
- Ability to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds, as needed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
