Job Description

This position is located in Kearney, NE, and offers relocation assistance. **Location:** West Central Nebraska **Position Summary:** RMV Construction, a general contractor in West Central Nebraska, is seeking an experienced Estimator with proficiency in ProEst software to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all aspects of the project are considered and costs are controlled. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Cost Estimation:** Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Conduct site visits to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other project-specific factors. 2. **ProEst Software Utilization:** Utilize ProEst software to prepare estimates and maintain databases. Ensure all project estimates are entered into the ProEst system accurately. Update and maintain cost databases within the software. 3. **Bid Preparation:** Prepare and submit bid proposals for projects. Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and evaluate quotes. Review and finalize project budgets and bids with senior management. 4. **Project Coordination:** Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure estimates align with project scope and requirements. Assist in the development and management of project schedules and timelines. Participate in project kick-off meetings and pre-construction planning sessions. 5. **Cost Control and Reporting:** Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to management. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend adjustments as needed. Prepare detailed reports on cost variances and budget adherence. 6. **Client and Stakeholder Communication:** Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Address client inquiries and concerns related to project estimates and budgets. Maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. **Qualifications:** - **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred. - **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry. - **Software Proficiency:** Demonstrated experience with ProEst software is required. - **Technical Skills:** Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation principles. - **Analytical Skills:** Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail. - **Communication:** Strong verbal and written communication skills. - **Organizational Skills:** Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. - **Certification:** Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar are a plus. **Working Conditions:** Office-based with occasional site visits. May require extended hours during peak project periods.
