The Product Configuration Specialist plays a crucial role in crafting tailored product configuration logic and categories—such as trailer body, electrical systems, refrigeration, suspension, and rear doors—within a 3D CAD environment. This position ensures the accurate creation of solid models and production-quality drawings.

The specialist will leverage product features and option selection codes to generate a wide array of product configurations, facilitating the procurement of materials, the manufacturing process, and the sales team's ability to present the correct finished product to each client.

Additionally, this role is responsible for maintaining the product configurator tool utilized by the Production Engineering Department to execute their tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop feature and option selection logic for engineering design selection charts and templates.

2. Create product templates that modify components to yield a final 3D CAD product.

3. Coordinate the modeling and development of all parts essential for completing an assembly or product by trailer category.

4. Oversee all parts and template-driven assemblies through validation, testing, and final design release.

5. Maintain and update templates and 3D model files as necessary.

6. Provide CAD-related technical guidance to production and design engineers.

7. Influence overall project direction and standards.

8. Assist in developing unique solutions to complex challenges.

9. Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Graphics Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in trailer design utilizing CATIA and/or SolidWorks.

Familiarity with CATIA annotated models or model-based definition.

Proficient in using CATIA Knowledge Advisor Workbench to achieve desired outcomes based on established logic.

Experience with CATIA Functional Tolerance & Annotation workbench for model annotation.

Comprehensive knowledge of CATIA V5 with at least 5000 hours of usage.

Skilled in CATIA workbenches including 'Part body', 'Sheetmetal', 'Drafting', and 'Assembly'.

Highly adept in Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic.

Self-driven and capable of independent thought; able to execute projects with minimal oversight.

Demonstrated ability to take ownership of decisions and be accountable for results.

Ability to multitask across various trailer categories on a daily basis.

Quickly assess existing template logic, identify issues, and perform necessary maintenance.

Exhibit exceptional skills in one or more of the qualifications listed above.

Willingness to travel occasionally to remote manufacturing facilities when specific product assignments are not available for standard review.
