Job Description

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Hardware Engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge compute and storage platforms that enable our cloud services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement test validation strategies for future technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test
  • Lead the identification and validation of product/component risks and work with design teams to mitigate them
  • Develop and implement test methodologies and test coverage to ensure product reliability
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers
  • Perform reliability prediction of failure mechanisms, products under development, and products in the field
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Reliability Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Reliability Engineering work experience with server platforms or high-tech hardware
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Reliability Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to uncover systemic issues prior to NPI
  • Working understanding of server components (CPU, GPU, memory, HDD, SSD, motherboard, thermal system, peripherals, etc.)
  • Memory reliability working experience
  • Analytical, test plan, and test procedure development experience related to server platforms or high-tech hardware
  • Experienced leading reliability for complex systems
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals
  • Able to work in a diverse team
  • Reliability modeling and materials characterization experience
  • Ability to influence development teams, procurement, and external partners

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
