Emergency Room Nurse

As a leader in the healthcare team, this Emergency Room RN will provide professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization. This role requires flexibility to changing systems, with a focus on quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. The successful candidate will treat co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership: Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws. Serve as a leader of the healthcare team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability.
- Nursing Process: Develop and/or contribute to the individualized plan of care that reflects assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the outcomes of that plan. Ensure the plan is discussed with the patient, family/significant others, and completed in a timely manner.
- Patient Care Experience: Provide an optimal patient care experience by actively listening to the needs of patients and family members and taking responsibility for meeting those identified needs. Give patients information in a way they can understand and ensure comprehension.
- Team Commitment: Viewed by others as an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others. Confront difficult or conflict situations constructively and seek appropriate assistance.
- Current CA RN license.
- BLS certification.
- 6 (six) months recent (within the last 5 years) full-time equivalent in ED or Critical Care, or successful completion of a KP ED training program or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.
- Current ACLS and PALS card required.
