Job Summary

As a Tax Operations Manager at Jackson Hewitt, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our tax preparation services. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of seasonal team members assigned to multiple store locations. Your primary objective will be to maximize the efficiency of Tax Preparer work and increase revenue and office profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead recruiting efforts and manage the interviewing process of seasonal employees for assigned areas.
• Monitor associate performance to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems as needed.
• Review and approve work schedules and timecard approvals, monitor time tracker during all shifts, and work with Human Resources on any employee relations issues or complaints and training.
• Ensure all assigned locations meet company standards, including office setup, technology setup, telecommunications, office supplies, and facilities maintenance.
• Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
• Monitor GL & P&L performance and hold/void/reject discount reports and productivity reports for assigned store groups. Also, responsible for meeting all office goals, including revenue, cash control, and tax return count in assigned areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent related business experience.
• Course of study in management or in tax preparation and/or accounting preferred.
• Two years' previous management or supervisory experience required.
• Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications, such as electronic mail, internet browser, Word, Excel, and accounting or tax preparation software.
• Previous tax preparation experience and possess a PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) preferred.
