UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in Carrboro, North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of clinical activities in the UNCHCS.
- Assist with bone marrow collection and perform complex specialty testing such as Hemoglobin/Thalassemia Profile on HPLC.
- Work closely with clinical teams and pathologists to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
- Participate in quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
- Report results to healthcare providers and consult with them regarding test results.
- Train new employees and serve as a technical resource.
- Bachelor's of Science degree.
- MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification.
- Two years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, medical laboratory technician, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level.
