Career Level - IC4

Key Responsibilities

The Oracle Analytics organization is essential in delivering and supporting top-tier cloud solutions to our customers.

The Service Excellence team at Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) is on the brink of revolutionizing development paradigms within the company.

As the world transitions to the Cloud, Oracle is leading the charge with an extensive portfolio of Cloud offerings.

This transformation is not limited to product development but extends to the processes involved in developing, deploying, and managing these products in the Cloud.

By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, continuous process enhancements, and innovative business transformation methodologies, our small team is pioneering the Service Excellence philosophy.

About the Role

The Oracle Analytics CSI (Compliance, Security, and Inventory) team is in search of an experienced developer eager to challenge the status quo. You will collaborate with development, product, operations, security, and compliance teams within the Analytical Organization and broader Oracle community to tackle intriguing technical challenges. Your focus will be on self-driving, defining, designing, deploying, and troubleshooting key Oracle Cloud services, platforms, and infrastructure, always prioritizing reliability, scalability, resilience, security, compliance, performance, and automation.

What You Will Do

In collaboration with your development, product, security, and operations partners, you will ensure that services can self-validate compliance. Where compliance is lacking, you will design and provide tools, reports, and dashboards to facilitate remediation efforts.

  • Automation: You will possess a solid understanding of automation and orchestration principles, actively seeking opportunities to automate processes while minimizing technical debt. Automation should be integral to your approach.
  • Technical Expertise: As the service owner, you will be the primary escalation point for complex or critical issues not yet documented as standard operating procedures for Level 1 staff. You will be called upon during incidents as a Subject Matter Expert, particularly when issues relate to compliance. A deep understanding of service topology and dependencies will be essential for troubleshooting and defining mitigations.
  • Compliance Management: Develop, automate, and maintain audit/compliance tasks in JIRA and related tools.
  • Dashboard Development: Build and maintain compliance dashboards to provide a comprehensive view of the organization's compliance posture, enabling self-service validation of compliance efforts.
  • Security and Compliance Partnership: Collaborate with teams to ensure that the Oracle Analytics team adheres to regulations, policies, standards, and best practices through automation.
  • Leadership: Candidates are expected to successfully lead and manage initiatives, with a primary focus on automating services and programs.
  • Data Extraction: Develop methods to extract data from Cloud environments to support controls testing automation.
  • Control Effectiveness Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, business processes, and corresponding evidence in alignment with industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Custom Tool Development: Create custom tools using the latest technologies and integrate them with existing internal development tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Jenkins, Chef) to support controls testing.
  • Configuration Understanding: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services to automate compliance requirements.
  • Efficiency Improvement Projects: Initiate and complete projects aimed at enhancing organizational efficiency and effectiveness while minimizing impact and risk.
  • Business Process Reviews: Conduct reviews to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations/service teams and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate status updates to executive leadership through self-service reporting/dashboards.
  • Team Communication: Foster open communication within the team and drive discussions across partner teams.
  • Issue Resolution: Drive clearly defined intra-team issues to resolution.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively learn and adapt; empowered to update and enhance current audit processes, tooling, and documentation.
  • Management Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with management and teams across Oracle.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in the following areas (minimum 5+ years' experience required):
