Position Details:
Role: Patient Access Specialist I
Type: PRN - All Shifts

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and respond to all incoming calls at the console.
  • Oversee alarms and security systems, implementing emergency protocols as necessary.
  • Maintain and update manuals, call lists, and directories.
  • Provide training for new staff members.
  • Make informed decisions regarding notifications to administrative personnel and staff.
  • Facilitate patient registration at bedside and in designated areas.
  • Engage with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Safeguard confidential patient information.
  • Perform all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: One to three years of clerical experience is necessary, preferably in a healthcare environment. Previous experience with PBX systems is advantageous.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Windows-based operating systems is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
