Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the creation of the monthly financial package for the Governing Board and Administration, which includes preparing journal entries, conducting account analyses, and generating reconciliations and schedules.
• Provide cross-training on Payroll, Accounts Payable, and General Accounting to ensure comprehensive support for accounting staff and department managers.
• Aid in the preparation of governmental reports, such as the Uniform Accounting Report and annual 990 filings.
• Prepare analyses and schedules for annual audits, serving as a primary contact for audit inquiries and ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
• Reconcile quarterly payroll tax information and prepare necessary reports to ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
• Conduct various general ledger account reconciliations, including PTO accruals and patient accounts receivable.
• Support accounting staff in resolving outstanding issues related to account reconciliations.
• Analyze and create a variety of financial reports to meet the organization's needs.
• Distribute monthly departmental financial reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with department managers to provide insights necessary for informed financial decision-making.
• Assist in developing accounting processes as new programs are introduced.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing financial controls and implement necessary changes.
• Uphold professional standards and promote patient safety as a core organizational value.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the preparation of the annual 5500 filing and assist with inquiries related to Payroll and Accounts Payable.
• Participate in educational seminars to further enhance professional skills.
• Engage in departmental meetings and review policies and procedures regularly.
• Assist with the coordination of the annual financial audit and budget preparation.
Job Scope:
This position involves frequent new challenges, a high degree of complexity, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Support the Assistant Chief Financial Officer in supervising accounting staff and conducting evaluations.
Interpersonal Contacts:
• Interactions typically occur with various departments and may involve confidential information, necessitating discretion.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of five to seven years of experience in financial analysis or accounting is essential.
• CPA or a Master's Degree in Finance/Accounting is preferred.
• Experience in the healthcare sector is highly desirable.
Physical Demands:
This role may require lifting up to 10 lbs and involves extensive computer work.
• This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
