About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Analytical Scientist to join our team at Entegris. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new analytical methods, leading analytical capability improvements, and maintaining analytical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Train Laboratory Technicians: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of laboratory technicians on analytical instruments, methods, and SOPs to ensure they have the necessary skills to complete laboratory projects according to customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Thin Film/Coatings Analysis: Safely perform thin film/coatings analysis to support current products, new product development, and customer requests.
  • Collaborate with R&D Teams: Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new analytical techniques to meet product requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve existing analytical methods to meet growing customer demand.
  • Establish Detection Limits: Establish detection limits, accuracy, precision, and stability for analytical methods via MSA methodology.
  • Design and Execute Experiments: Design, set up, and execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate results to the team (or customers) via technical reports and presentations.
  • Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support to sales, marketing, and global R&D teams.
  • Maintain Lab Practices: Maintain and support lab practices and documentation per relevant ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Maintain Instrumentation: Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, including hardness measurement, nanoindentation, scratch adhesion, profilometer, and optical/confocal microscopy.
Requirements
  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field of study is required; Master's Degree or PhD preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Lab Instrument Operations: General lab instrument operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience is required.
  • Supervisory Experience: Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role is preferred.
  • ISO 17025 & ISO 9001: Experience working within a laboratory that conforms to ISO 17025 & ISO 9001 standards.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and to influence decisions across multiple layers of the organization.
  • Chemical Handling: Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Project Management: Ability to conduct projects independently, navigate through ambiguity, and to rapidly respond to new situations and changing business needs.
