Job Summary

Thor Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer IV to support the development of C5ISR systems for the U.S. Navy's amphibious assault ships. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in design engineering, integration, and management of C5ISR systems, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide design engineering support for C5ISR systems, including research, development, and coordination of technical documentation.
  • Develop and review technical documentation for new ship procurements, including shipyard contract modifications and engineering change requests.
  • Assess shipboard requirements and provide recommended engineering design and integration solutions.
  • Conduct engineering reviews of shipbuilder products to ensure accuracy and compliance with the shipbuilding contract design.
  • Use AutoCAD and NavisWorks to perform evaluation and spatial analysis of shipbuilder 3-D models.
  • Review and provide quality assurance for C5ISR drawing revisions.
  • Evaluate engineering change proposals for compliance with technical scope and assess engineering projections with cost and labor estimates.
  • Conduct detailed engineering and cost evaluation analyses of proposed changes/modifications to C5ISR systems and associated support systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or industrial discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • At least ten (10), and ideally at least fifteen (15), years of relevant professional experience in C5ISR design engineering or similar.
  • Experience with DoD/Navy program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S Navy Amphibious Ship C5ISR systems and interfaces.
  • AutoCAD proficiency and NavisWorks familiarity preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
