Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Echocardiography Sonographer to join our team at St James Hospital in Butte, Montana. As a Diagnostic Echocardiography Sonographer, you will play a critical role in performing diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and be able to produce high-quality ultrasound images. You will be responsible for recognizing normal and abnormal tissue structures, documenting patient data consistently, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician
- Produce high-quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements
- Recognize normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation
- Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Maintain the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensure proper equipment maintenance and safety
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography program
- One (1) current/valid certification from the following list: Registry Eligible, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Two (2) years related sonography experience
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
