Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Henry County Schools. The successful candidate will provide academic, emotional, and physical support to students in a media center setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead students in small group exercises to reinforce instruction and co-teach lesson components as assigned by the teacher.
  • Monitor and supervise students, providing academic, emotional, and physical support as necessary.
  • Assist with preparation of materials for instruction, including copying, duplicating, and constructing display boards, learning centers, and manipulatives.
  • Perform necessary clerical tasks, such as checking students in, collecting parent communication, and organizing funds.
  • Participate in lesson planning sessions and communicate with parents and school officials.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE).
  • Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
  • Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
  • Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to perform routine physical activities, such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
