Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Systems Operator to join our team at My Florida Corp Defunct. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our large-scale computer systems, ensuring seamless performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain multiple central site computer systems, including IBM servers with AIX operating systems and Microsoft Windows servers.
  • Monitor system efficiency and timeliness of activities, conferring with system analysts, vendors, and users as needed.
  • Perform a variety of highly responsible duties, involving independent judgment and initiative, some of which may be of a sensitive nature.
  • Handle emergency situations, such as computer hardware failures and software problems, through approved emergency guidelines.
  • Balance reports generated by daily draws, ICS Systems, and vendor reports, resolving any discrepancies according to approved procedures.
  • Provide assistance to the Computer Systems Operation Manager, Shift Supervisor, and COOP Coordinator in developing, implementing, and testing the IT Disaster Recovery Plan and Continuity of Operations Plan.
  • Monitor environment and electrical power to maintain narrow margin of operating conditions necessary to keep computer systems functioning.
  • Operate a personal computer in a Microsoft Windows environment for electronic correspondence, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Request service as needed on all computer systems, coordinating the resolution of problems after normal business hours.
  • Maintain operating records on production and performance reports, documenting daily actions in the online operator log.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of experience in the operation of a personal computer and computer peripheral equipment, or
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, and one year of experience in the operation of a personal computer and computer peripheral equipment, and completion of a program of study from a vocational/technical school or data processing vendor in an area of data processing (excluding data entry).
  • Experience: College coursework may be substituted for one year of the required work experience, provided the coursework included at least four courses in an area of data processing other than data entry.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of information learned while working with the Florida Lottery, whether learned through assigned duties or through working with other units.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week, with shift hours varying depending on the position. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and problem-solving.
