Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Designer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing HVAC control systems that meet the project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation
    • Select and design hardware components from standard design libraries for flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
    • Program software using established standards as a basis of design.
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
    • Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
  • System Testing and Validation
    • Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers.
    • Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades.
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Gather field changes from the project team and create as-built drawings and software.
    • Prepare proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.
    • Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Training and Support
    • Assist in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.
    • Complete paperwork including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
  • Adherence to Safety Standards
    • Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Minimum of three years of experience with installing and/or commissioning Johnson Controls Metasys systems, including system-level controllers.
    • Working knowledge and experience using Metasys Tools: RAC schedule, CCT, SCT, Visio.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science.
  • Skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
    • Demonstrated technical aptitude.
    • Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly computer-related drafting tools.
