Special Education Teacher (SPED)

Location: Wickenburg, AZ

Hours: Full-Time, 30-40 hours per week, 4 days a week

Caseload:

  • Grades 9-12, approximately 25 students (full-time)
  • Grades 6-8, approximately 10 students (approximately 10-12 hours/week, Monday-Thursday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Deliver direct instruction and assistance to students with special educational requirements.
  • Modify and adapt curriculum and resources to accommodate the unique learning styles of students.
  • Work collaboratively with general education instructors, families, and other specialists to enhance students' educational experiences.
  • Track and report on student progress effectively.
  • Engage in IEP meetings and other pertinent educational discussions.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline.
  • Valid Arizona teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Preferred experience in supporting students with varied learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
