Job Title: Rescue/Foster Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Rescue/Foster Coordinator to join our Animal Services team at the Galveston County Health District.

Job Summary:

The Rescue/Foster Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining rescue group and foster home databases, managing the Animal Resource Center's (ARC) Facebook page, and coordinating rescue and foster outreach activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as experience with animal training and veterinary medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of rescue groups and foster homes
  • Manage the ARC's Facebook page, including posting available animals and responding to comments and messages
  • Coordinate rescue and foster outreach activities, including developing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain rescues and fosters
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to rescue groups, foster homes, and the public
  • Work collaboratively with administrative staff to ensure seamless operations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with animal training and veterinary medicine preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory DMV/MVR background check
  • Customer service oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills
