Job Title: Construction Inspector

Halff is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction inspection, with a focus on bridge inspection. You will work closely with contractors to inspect, document, and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and contract provisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee construction inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Verify contractor work to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
  • Complete daily work reports, including sketches, measurements, photographs, and detailed descriptions of work items and locations.
  • Coordinate materials testing personnel to ensure proper and prompt material testing.
  • Inspect and ensure compliance with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs).
  • Monitor project phasing and traffic control plans.
  • Resolve differences in interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Consult with project engineers, resident project representatives, and contractors' superintendents on work progress and construction problems.
  • Review construction records, inspection reports, and records audits to ensure contract compliance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with inspection of state or municipal construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to travel to construction sites for extended periods and work outside of normal business hours.
  • Self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity, and success.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required.
