We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Social Worker to join our team at the California Department of State Hospitals. As a Clinical Social Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and well-being of our patients while delivering high-quality clinical social work services.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to patients, focusing on their mental health and well-being.
- Perform suicide and crisis risk assessments, and intervene as necessary to prevent harm.
- Participate in risk assessments and recommendations for alternate care placements or community release.
- Coordinate discharge planning and connect patients with community resources to ensure a smooth transition.
- Prepare detailed reports and provide expert testimony as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through training, research, and collaboration with colleagues.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
- Master's degree from an accredited school of social work approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
- Strong understanding of clinical social work principles, particularly related to mental, developmental, and physical disabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and collaborate with community and family agencies.
- Strong communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle stressful situations, and maintain physical and emotional stamina. The successful candidate will be responsible for the control of patients or inmates and the protection of property.
