**Job Summary**
Ben Aris is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Grain Procurement Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the grains origination program at our ethanol production plant, aligning efforts with the goals and objectives of our commodities group and the company.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Procure corn supply from producers and grain elevators based on provided guidelines, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with producers, marketing groups, and elevators, sharing local market insights with the broader grain team to inform procurement decisions.
- Supervise the Commodities Assistant or Grain Procurement Representative roles, providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of grain procurement activities.
- Determine suitable cash contracts for the region, taking into account market trends and company objectives.
- Manage grain purchase position, truck logistics, and plant inventory levels to meet demand efficiently, minimizing waste and optimizing resources.
- Input purchase contracts into the accounting system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date grain records in compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely payments to suppliers, maintaining a positive and professional relationship.
- Coordinate with the shipping and receiving department to ensure smooth processes and superior customer service, meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate grain purchasing and pricing to the corporate hedge group promptly and effectively, providing timely and accurate information to inform business decisions.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business or a related field, such as agriculture or supply chain management.
- Ten years of purchasing experience in agriculture, grain, or manufacturing, with a proven track record of success in procurement and supply chain management.
- Preferably experienced in customer service for farmers, grain elevator personnel, and truck drivers, with a strong understanding of the agricultural industry and its complexities.
- Supervisory experience is a plus, with a proven ability to lead and manage teams to achieve business objectives.
