Job Overview

Position Summary

The Aircraft Fleet Operations Manager is tasked with enhancing flight safety and delivering outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders. This role necessitates the ongoing oversight of the real-time positioning and condition of the Cirrus Managed Aircraft fleet (Cirrus SR2X and SF50) while formulating and executing a proactive maintenance strategy to optimize resource utilization and reduce downtime. The Fleet Operations Manager collaborates closely with the Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure adherence to FAA regulations and company protocols. Additionally, this position involves liaising with aircraft service centers and vendors to arrange both routine and unexpected maintenance and repairs, maintaining precise records of all maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with FARs and Cirrus standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee that all aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable FARs and Cirrus policies, ensuring airworthiness compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by embodying the Cirrus Service Essentials and adhering to the Guiding Principles.
  • Continuously monitor the real-time location and airworthiness status of the fleet.
  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking maintenance strategy by anticipating future utilization to minimize downtime and maximize asset efficiency, making informed financial decisions regarding maintenance scheduling and negotiating with external service providers.
  • Utilize expertise in aircraft maintenance programs and airworthiness procedures to determine optimal service timing and locations, employing tools such as MELs to defer maintenance when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with service centers to schedule and complete routine maintenance or repairs, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution prioritized according to company needs.
  • Make financial decisions to address unforeseen maintenance issues arising from non-routine events, ensuring prompt and efficient completion of necessary repairs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with aircraft service centers and vendors to secure access to high-quality maintenance and repair services at competitive rates.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance and repair activities, providing regular updates to management and the FAA regarding fleet status and utilization.
  • Audit aircraft maintenance endorsements, logbooks, MELs, and FAA-required documents to ensure compliance with FARs and Cirrus requirements.
  • Collaborate with Schedulers and Dispatchers to facilitate and coordinate the movement of Cirrus-owned, leaseback, and customer aircraft.
  • Monitor and audit aircraft total and flight times to ensure accuracy in flight logs, providing regular reports to relevant teams.
  • Work with the Delivery Experience team and tax advisors to create leaseback reports, ensuring compliance with Cirrus policies and customer tax requirements.
  • Process and record invoices, providing budget and business analytics.
  • Manage AOG (Aircraft on Ground) maintenance events, including scheduling, logistics, parts acquisition, and resource allocation.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including maintenance personnel, operators, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure effective communication throughout maintenance events.
  • Assess the applicability of all Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives issued for the fleet and coordinate compliance.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of maintenance events, providing updates to stakeholders and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Adjust aircraft allocation plans as needed to ensure optimal resource utilization.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field is required; a degree in Aviation, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft management, dispatching, or piloting.
  • A&P and/or Private Pilot License is preferred.
