Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is between $172,140 and $265,188, with specific ranges based on experience and level:

  • SEL.3 Level: $172,140 - $221,064
  • SEL.4 Level: $206,490 - $265,188

Please note that the compensation range is a guideline and may vary based on various factors, including education and experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Flight Test Group Leader to oversee our Flight Test Groups, which support the Independent Diagnostics Scoring System (LIDSS) program. This program is pivotal in developing and applying advanced technologies for national defense initiatives. The successful candidate will lead teams responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of sophisticated diagnostic systems utilized in various defense programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Flight Test Group, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Assign tasks and monitor project progress while contributing to programmatic goals.
  • Provide technical oversight on unmanned aircraft systems and diagnostic rafts.
  • Optimize data collection methods and maintain logs of equipment performance.
  • Lead design initiatives for future flight test programs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term strategies and report on project status.
  • Review engineering documentation to ensure quality and compliance with stakeholder requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities for SEL.4 Level

  • Influence strategic decisions at the senior management level.
  • Lead advancements in cutting-edge technologies and programs.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for LIDSS.
  • Work with leadership to identify technology development opportunities and secure funding.

Qualifications

  • Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in engineering design and project management.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to travel for mission support as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced fabrication techniques and unmanned systems.
  • Familiarity with CAD and design software.
