About the Opportunity

This is a unique chance to make a difference in the lives of preschool students with special needs. As a Paraprofessional, you will work under the direction of the classroom teacher to provide extra support and promote maximum academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and support to students with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments, following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans.
  • Offer instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups, addressing communication, behavioral management, academics, fine/gross motor, daily living skills, social, and community living skills.
  • Assist with behavior management, general supervision, and administrative duties, such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
  • Observe student behavior and progress, keep notes, and report to the classroom teacher and/or other school designee(s).
  • Provide support in addressing medical needs under the direction of a nurse.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Standard clearances and health forms will be required before hire.
