About the Role

We're seeking a Lead Experience Designer to join our Experience Design team, where you'll have the opportunity to shape one of the largest consumer presences in America. This role involves supporting millions of daily customer interactions across an omnichannel ecosystem and a growing consumer product portfolio. With global offices and hybrid work environments, you'll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to create end-to-end customer experiences for various consumer-facing products and services.

Your key responsibilities will include envisioning, creating, and maintaining customer activities, providing direction to the team, and mentoring junior designers. You'll also facilitate complex design programs or products, working closely with partners in product, technology, and business.

  • Engage in user context research and target user activities when possible.
  • Participate in insight-gathering activities and create design solutions that leverage user insights.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitive products.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of UI standards for common platforms (iOS, Android, Web).
  • Design solutions within Verizon's business context and revenue model.
  • Communicate project plans, goals, and expected outcomes effectively.
  • Articulate user, business, and technical reasoning for detailed design decisions.
  • Provide mentorship in areas of expertise and ramp up new team members.
  • Identify project needs and engage stakeholders in conversation.
  • Present work and engage in constructive dialogue with stakeholders.
  • Understand partner motivations and drivers.
  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams in problem-solving and facilitation.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Agile software delivery environments.
  • Proficiency in common design software (Figma, Adobe, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design.
  • Portfolio of professional work.
  • Contributed to multiple design programs or shipped products with a large user base.
  • Contributed to overall product success.
  • Experience with Fortune 500 organizational environments.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is between $127,000.00 and $236,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule, depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive-based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
