Position Summary

We are in search of a skilled Embedded Software Engineer with a strong background in Linux and Android environments. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting and executing software solutions tailored for our embedded systems, specifically focusing on Linux and Android platforms utilized in advanced access control devices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and sustain software for embedded systems, with an emphasis on Android-based platforms utilized in access control technologies.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between software and hardware components in access control systems.
• Develop and implement secure communication protocols essential for access control devices.
• Create firmware for a variety of access control hardware, including but not limited to card readers, control panels, and smart locks.
• Implement robust encryption and security measures to safeguard sensitive access control information.
• Develop and maintain drivers for diverse access control peripherals, such as biometric scanners and RFID readers.
• Optimize firmware for energy-efficient operation in battery-powered access control devices.
• Engage in code reviews and collaborate with fellow engineers to uphold high software quality standards.
• Produce and maintain thorough documentation, including design specifications, testing plans, and user manuals.
• Diagnose and rectify software issues within access control systems, applying necessary fixes.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in embedded software technology and security standards relevant to the access control industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded software development, particularly with Android-based platforms.
• Proficient programming skills in C/C++, Java, and other pertinent languages.
• Familiarity with software development tools, including debuggers, emulators, and compilers.
• Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Knowledge of access control protocols (e.g., Wiegand, OSDP) and relevant standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001).
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) applicable to access control devices.
• Comprehension of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, MQTT) commonly employed in IoT and access control systems.
• Familiarity with cryptography and secure coding practices.
• Knowledge of wireless technologies (WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave) utilized in contemporary access control systems.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies is advantageous.
