Job Title: Flight Dynamics Engineer

Intuitive Machines LLC is seeking a highly skilled Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our Mission Analysis Cycle (MAC) group, you will be responsible for the analysis, development, and testing of flight and ground support hardware for our lunar missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Mission Design Toolset (MDT) to create 6DOF attitude mission timelines from 3DOF trajectories, payload requirements, and other constraints.
  • Run, modify, and create scripts and source code to assess vehicle change impacts among various subsystems for our current and future lunar missions.
  • Interface with all subsystems to improve processes, gather inputs, and provide output.
  • Present results to control boards and participate in high-level design and analysis discussions.

Requirements:

  • B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline and minimum of 3 years of experience in root cause analysis or related discipline; or M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Python, Linux, 6DOF simulation, trajectory design, linear algebra, quaternion math, frame transformations.
  • Familiarity with commonly used space and commercial specifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Solid experience with C/C++, Trick, Bash, VSCode, Git, GitLab, SpiceyPy, Matplotlib, Numpy, Confluence, Jira, Agile, Kalman Filters, Monte Carlo, nonlinear optimization, MPI.
