Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our Flight Operations Directorate team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of processes required for mission planning and real-time flight activity execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams responsible for the development of processes required for mission planning and real-time flight activity execution.
  • Ensure that Exploration strategic plans, mission, vision, and values are communicated and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, and work.
  • Represent the Flight Operations Directorate in Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA)-related and Exploration systems design reviews.
  • Coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques.
  • Lead the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload among employees.
  • Coordinate between flight crew, flight control, engineering, and Commercial/International partner personnel.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence, and innovation.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.
  • Providing insight functions associated with Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) vendors.
  • Leading the development of operations concepts required to perform real-time, human spaceflight operations.
  • Performing flight system design assessments, risk trades, and mission readiness assessments.
Education

You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following:

  • Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs.
  • Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, or other field of Science.
  • Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of course work in any combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
