- Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) participating state.
- Experience mentoring and/or teaching nursing students and other nurses, with a strong commitment to student success.
- Advanced Nursing Practice: Deep understanding of nursing theories, principles, and practices, with a focus on specialized knowledge in a specialty area of nursing practice.
- Research Methods: Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies pertinent to the nursing field, with a strong focus on statistics, data analysis, and evidence-based practice.
- Education Techniques: Familiarity with curriculum development, pedagogical theories, and teaching strategies specific to higher education and nursing education.
- Teaching: Ability to effectively impart knowledge, facilitate learning, and assess student performance in a variety of course formats.
- Research: Skills in designing, conducting, and analyzing research studies, with a strong focus on grant writing and publishing research findings in reputable journals.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and the wider academic and healthcare communities.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Capacity to lead projects and work collaboratively with other faculty members, as well as participate in committees and contribute to the academic community.
