Grocery Clerk

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Utility Clerk/Sacker to join our team at Cosentino's Food Stores. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment, and supporting our cashiers and other team members.

• Utilize proper bagging techniques to minimize product damage and maximize efficiency.
• Know and implement the Cosentino's Customer Service Standards.
• Know your store's items, procedures, and policies to accurately and courteously answer customer questions.
• Deliver groceries to and load them into customers' vehicles when requested.
• Assist customers in locating items in the store.
• Retrieve carts from the parking lot and ensure they are safe and clean for customer use.
• Conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Monitor the sales floor, cashier stands, and restrooms for cleanliness and keep these areas tidy and safe for customers and employees.
• Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when it is appropriate to involve a member of the store management team.
• Able to operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards to produce desired team and individual results.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills required for the position.
• Know and follow all government regulations regarding alcohol and tobacco sales.

• Pushing and pulling grocery items and carts to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 25 lbs.
• Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete, or other hard surfaces.
• Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs., to a height of 34 inches.
• Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level.
• Able to work in colder conditions of the grocery coolers and freezers.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
