Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. As a Utility Clerk/Sacker, you will be the face of Cosentino's Food Stores, and your primary focus will be on assisting customers with their shopping needs, maintaining a clean and safe store environment, and supporting the overall success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate a cash register, process transactions, and handle customer payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and restrooms.
  • Restock shelves, face merchandise, and maintain visual displays to ensure a visually appealing store environment.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking merchandise, including unloading trucks and placing merchandise on shelves.
  • Participate in inventory management, including counting and reconciling inventory, and reporting discrepancies to management.
  • Support the sales floor team by assisting with sales, answering customer questions, and providing product information.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales floor team to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including opening and closing procedures, and maintaining a safe and secure store environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced retail environment, with frequent exposure to customers, cash handling, and physical activity. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and professionally, and provide exceptional customer service in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
