The University of Arizona invites applications for the position of Histotechnologist II in the Tissue Acquisition and Cellular and Molecular Analysis Shared Resources (TACMASR) Core. As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and tasks supporting the day-to-day operations of the TACMASR core.
Key Responsibilities- Perform immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining using the Leica Bond platform.
- Perform histological procedures including accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining including special stains, and frozen tissue preparation, sectioning and H&E staining.
- Assist with research and development of new procedures and helps keep standard operating procedures and manuals current.
- Maintain and operate laboratory and histological equipment.
- Prepare reagents and solutions.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Completion of an accredited histotechnology program.
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as HT (Histotechnician) or HTL (Histotechnologist), or ability to obtain this certification.
- Three (3) or more years of experience related to the job duties and research in histology and immunohistochemistry.
