Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Math Teacher to join our team at Four Corners Middle School. As a Math Teacher, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality education to our students and helping them achieve academic success.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and learning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles. You will work closely with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials, assess student progress, and provide feedback to students and parents.

This is a full-time position, and the salary for this role is approximately $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Responsibilities
  • Instruction/Education Responsibilities
  • Create and implement effective lesson plans that align with state standards and company policies;
  • Provide instruction to students in grades 6-8, using various teaching methods and technologies;
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction to meet individual needs;
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents/guardians as needed;
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices;
  • Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to Learning
  • Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic growth and social development;
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when interacting with students, staff, and parents;
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and equipped with necessary materials and resources.
  • Instructional Planning
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate technology, multimedia, and hands-on activities;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver professional development workshops on teaching strategies and educational technology;
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in math education and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • School/Community Relations
  • Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members through regular communication and outreach;
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports, or volunteer programs, to promote school spirit and community engagement;
  • Represent the school in local events, conferences, and meetings to build partnerships and foster collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited college or university in mathematics education or related field;
  • Valid teaching certification or equivalent;
  • Minimum 1-3 years of successful teaching experience in mathematics education;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances;
  • Familiarity with educational technology and willingness to learn new tools and platforms;
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
