Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in the laboratory process by collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, often in hospital settings and clinics, to collect specimens from patients of varying acuity.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and family members to explain procedures and instructions.
  • Participate in CODE response teams and contribute to the development of skills such as patient registration, specimen processing, and training new staff.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS)/RQI for healthcare providers.
  • Ability to take on-call shifts, according to department needs.
  • Flexibility to work in other facilities, as needed.
  • Adherence to all personal protective requirements in inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six months of phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy training as approved by Manager/Supervisor.
  • High School diploma or equivalent in compliance with CLIA regulations.
  • Certificate of completion from phlebotomy school or program.
